Participants will gain a sound understanding of the following topics:
  • Inspection of equipment
  • Slinging techniques
  • Plan and prepare work methods
  • Load movement and Load placement
  • Crane directions/signals
  • Knots and splices
  • Knowledge and calculations
Content:
Assessment is based on competency – the ability to perform tasks to the National Occupational Health & Safety Standard and Worksafe Victoria Standards. Assessment is conducted through a combination of practical demonstration, verbal questioning and written testing and calculations.
Pre-requisites:
To be eligible for a WorkSafe Victoria Certificate of Competency, the WorkSafe Victoria practical and written test must be successfully completed. This applicant must be a minimum age of 18 years with the ability to speak and write English to a basic level and have the necessary levels of health and fitness to safely carry out work as a Dogman.
